Camping at Carpinteria

Now, that's my kind of camping (it pays to have friends)

Evan, asleep in a bed???
The old way...Megan Shutt slept here in our guest house.

We have gone camping over the Memorial Day Weekend for 15 years with many friends from TO 4th ward(well, we actually have skipped a few times, but some of our friends have never missed). This year was a little different because none of our children were able to come (boo-hoo) and we camped in something other than our usual small tent. The pictures tell the story. We did have rain one morning and it was pretty cold the entire time, but we had such a good time with everyone. Our favorite things: the whistle of the train going by many times day & night, the sound of the waves, the beautiful sunsets, sharing food (lots of food), the good conversation around the table, playing games, and laughing together at the nightly campfires. It can't get any better than this, well, maybe a little better weather. But, then it wouldn't be camping over Memorial Day in Carpinteria if there wasn't some gloomy, foggy weather...
